Nikon D3200 for Dummies

I’ve been to two classes in my Photography 101 course. I think I need a remedial course so I’ve ordered Nikon D3200 for Dummies. I hope a book for dummies is remedial enough for me. Here are some of the photos I took last weekend in Tucson, after class #1. I actually shot some of these in manual mode. But for some I relied on “landscape.” I now know I cannot operate my camera in anything other than the various auto modes without reading glasses.

  1. Ha ha, you just need to hope your audience are viewing your pictures on a tablet – they’ll never probe too deeply πŸ˜‰

It looks like you had some beautiful Southwest scenery to take advantage of with your new toy. You’ve captured some interesting subject matter here. It looks like a promising beginning to your new hobby of amateur photography. πŸ™‚

  3. i would have to take an even lower level class, b/c i don’t even know how the picture goes into the computer.

I don’t generally like the desert. At least, I’m glad I don’t live there (thank goodness for piney woods). But, I do love to take pictures in the desert. Yours look very good and desert-y, and I can’t even tell you are new at it!

I just picked up a d3200 for my birthday! At least you have wonderful scenery to take pictures of. It is pretty gray up here in Seattle right now. I am starting a link party for photography amateurs to share their pictures and learn from each other. The first party goes live on Tuesday. I have an announcement post here with all the details:

I hope you consider joining us! Enjoy your new camera!

  6. And I need a Canon for dummies. No, for idiots. I’m terrible at reading instruction manuals and how-to books, and so I’m not progressing as a photographer. thanks for the inspiration!—M.
