I rescued Sophie from life on the streets five months ago. Once camera shy, she’s learning to embrace her rightful spot in my photo albums. Here are a few shots I took this morning as I refamiliarize myself with my new Nikon D3200 in preparation for my trip next weekend. Sophie’s lost much of her red highlights and has shed what seems like an entire coat of fur. (Some of which is to plastered to the side of her perch.) She’s come a long way from the frightened little matted-fur kitty who wouldn’t come out of her hiding place in the closet.
She’s got a little dark freckle in the bottom right corner of her right eye. A beauty mark for a beauty.
Aaaawwww …

Yes! You all were so right. It was my first kitty integration, and it seemed to take forever. They still hiss, though. I bet they get over that given another six months.

Yes, she definitely is not an outdoor kitty. I don’t know how she managed. Lucky little girl.

She is such a little lover. The other kitties are slowly allowing her to live in their castle. Very slowly. In another year, maybe they’ll lick each other’s heads. Or at least stop growling at each other.
