Redecorating the Bachelorette Pad: Part I

And so it begins! I’ve hired a painter who starts Wednesday. Right now, I’ve got the Tuscan look. Tan sand-colored walls with a deep brickish-red accent wall. Olive green in the downstairs powder bath. And a horrific deep red in the upstairs guest bath. Oak cabinets in the kitchen.

Here’s where we’re headed:

From Tuscan red to teal (living/dining/kitchen accent wall; in my open-concept condo, these areas flow together):

From tan/yellowish to a lovely gray-tone beige (main color throughout condo; downstairs all the way up to the vaulted ceiling, stairway, upstairs hall, loft area):

From olive green to Bordeaux (downstairs powder bath):

From oak to cream (kitchen cabinets):

From horrific red to cool aqua (upstairs guest bath):

The drapes are being made and will be a teal silk, to match the accent wall. Also in the same teal silk are accent pillows and a table runner. On order: Kravet sofa (beige gray chenille fabric) and side accent chairs (olive-green silk). I’m recovering one chair that is a keeper.

I’ll save the report on the dining area (table, chairs, fabrics, etc.) for now. But it’s going to be spectacular! Also coming soon, light fixtures, rugs, wall art, and accessories.

Yes, dear people, this is a major revamping of the Bachelorette Pad.

It’s all so symbolic.
